Trip to Ironforge AirportI recently took a trip to Ironforge Airport and took some pictures on the way there and back.
The way to Ironforge Airport starts in northern Loch Modan as you come out of the tunnel from Dun Morogh.
There is a small valley behind a big tree that you need to ride up, keep going, climb, jump and pass some
trees.

You will finally cross into the border area between Loch Modan, the Wetlands and Dun Morogh.

Just follow your instincts and you will finally cross back into Dun Morogh.

You might find that some of the border areas are slightly unsettling.

On your way, you will get your first view towards the dwarven farms we will visit on our way out, hidden in the mist.

And then you will see the last snow field to cross.

Once you ride around that last ridge, you will find that you have arrived.

The first thing you see as you ride towards the airport, is the defunct flight path.

You then ride past a dwarven camp...

... and some mighty fortifications...

... before you reach the flight field.

There are quite a few of them, and they didn't mind posing for a photo
opportunity.

The gnomes taking care of them are quite friendly, though very competitive.

From one of the fortresses there is a tunnel that is blocked.

If you are a hunter and have some patience, you can manage to send your pet through.

Though you will find that the tunnel will lead into nothing - literally

If you are daring enough and jump off, you will find yourself gently floating into the strangest places.

If you ride past the perpetual fight between dwarves and trolls, you get a magnificent view across the eastern parts of Dun Morogh:

The guards of Ironforge keep their vigilance even here.

Which is a good thing, as from up here you could jump right onto the entrance to Ironforge itself.

Heading back towards the airport, you see the impressive fortifications from a different angle than your usualy fly-by experience.

And you also gain a new perspective of the airport.

Heading towards the north you soon see towards Menethil and the dwarven farms on the ledge half way down.

Following the waterfall is not advised but a roundabout way brings you to the bottom of it safely.

The farmers are friendly people, both the men...

... and the women.

They have fertile fields with life stock...

... solid barns...

... and their rams don't mind sharing some hay with visitors.

Again there is a tunnel that goes nowhere.

But as this one is not blocked, there is no need to send the pet, I could have a first hand look.

Also, there seems to be a path leading this way (have a look at the tooltip)

that way (have a look at the tooltip)

and the other way (have a look at the tooltip).

Going this way, one has a good view onto Menethil Harbour.

Going the other way, one arrives on a huge plain.

From this plain, one can see parts of the wetlands...

... all of Whelgar's dig...

... as well as the Angerfang camp.

Going back east, one reaches a pretty lake.

After swimming through the lake and killing some orcs, there is an easy descent towards Dun Algaz and civilisation.
